Notice for ECP Holders and BHIDAPA-EAPTI Training Participants

The European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) has adopted an amendment to the guidelines for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). A new option has been added to the existing list of CPD activities:

  • Personal psychotherapy (individual, group, couple or family) may now be counted as a CPD activity for the maintenance and renewal of the European Certificate of Psychotherapy (ECP).1

This amendment has been included in the Appendix to the Practitioner Registration Form for the ECP (PRF), which all ECP holders completed and signed when applying for the certificate. The updated form is available on the EAP website: https://www.europsyche.org/ECP/Apply-for-ECP

Important note:

This new CPD option does not represent an additional obligation; rather, it offers an additional possibility for fulfilling your CPD requirements as an ECP holder.

Supervision before and after certification

Pre-certification supervision (during training) is carried out in accordance with the criteria and regulations of the BHIDAPA-EAPTI Academy for Psychotherapy and the relevant European associations (EAP, EAIP, EIATSCYP).

Post-certification professional supervision after obtaining the certificate is carried out at the practitioner’s own discretion, provided that supervision is delivered by qualified professional supervisors.

You can read more about CPD here.
