Specialist Training in Sexual Health, Therapy and Counselling: Applications Open

Sexual health is a fundamental component of overall health, well-being, quality of life, and interpersonal relationships. Nevertheless, sexuality, intimacy, and sexual concerns remain among the most sensitive and least openly discussed topics, even within professional practice.

BHIDAPA Academy for Psychotherapy is pleased to announce that applications remain open for the second cohort of its Specialist Training in Sexual Health, Therapy and Counselling. The programme is designed for mental health and helping professionals seeking to expand their knowledge, strengthen their clinical skills, and develop advanced professional competencies for working in this increasingly important field.

The programme provides participants with comprehensive academic knowledge, clinical expertise, and practical therapeutic skills. It places particular emphasis on the development of clinical competence, professional ethics, personal responsibility, and reflective practice, while adhering to the principles of good clinical practice and internationally recognised supervision standards that ensure excellence in professional training and clinical work.

Delivered through an integrative framework, the curriculum encompasses the biological, psychological, relational, social, and cultural dimensions of human sexuality. It offers in-depth training in sexual health across the lifespan, intimate relationships, sexual difficulties and dysfunctions, trauma-informed practice, counselling, psychotherapeutic interventions, and ethical decision-making in clinical practice.

Applications for the second cohort of the Specialist Training in Sexual Health, Therapy and Counselling remain open until 1 September 2026.

Teaching for the 2026/2027 academic year will commence on 4 September 2026 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
