About education

The education has been carefully designed to respond to the growing need for experts in the field of sexual health. The focus is on the combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to work with sexual trauma, violence, sexual development challenges and dysfunctions. More about educationa

✅ Start of education 14.02.2025.

✅ Duration: 2 years (4 semesters, 60 ECTS)

✅ Venue: BHIDAPA – EAPTI, Sarajevo, Emerika Bluma 9A
✅ Thematic modules are organized once a month (extended weekend) with winter and summer breaks.

✅ The price of the module is 191.70 EUR, or according to the number of hours in the module 6.49 EUR per hour. One academic year consists of 10 modules and amounts to 1917 EUR.

What does the educational program offer?

🔹 Participants will be able to recognize and understand various aspects of sexual health, including psychosexual development, sexual dysfunctions and the influence of culture and society on sexual health.

🔹 The therapist will develop the skills necessary to implement specialized therapeutic interventions and counseling techniques aimed at improving the sexual health of individuals and couples.

🔹 Education will enable participants to critically assess and analyze sexual behaviors and attitudes, and how to adequately approach them in their practice.

🔹 The educational program emphasizes the importance of ethics in professional work, preparing therapists to face ethical dilemmas and ensure compliance with high professional standards in their therapeutic and counseling work.

🔹 The therapist will develop the skills of good therapeutic and counseling practice (therapeutic alliance) – In addition to professional knowledge, the therapist will develop and improve his communication and interpersonal skills, which are key to building trust and effectively conducting therapy and counseling sessions. They will also develop the skills of recognizing and reacting to their own countertransference reactions in demanding treatments of sexual problems, including the development of a positive therapeutic alliance.

🔹 Therapists/counselors will be trained to create and implement educational programs aimed at improving sexual health and preventing sexual abuse.

🔹Therapists/counselors will be trained for evaluations and supervisions in the context of sexual psychotherapy and counseling.

Certificate and accreditation

Upon completion of the program, participants obtain the diploma of Sexual Health Specialist and Therapist/Counselor, certified by the BHIDAPA Academy of Psychotherapy, which directly enables the application of certificates certified by HDST and EFS.
