This extended weekend we had the honor of hosting Dr. Joseph Knobel Freud, a distinguished psychotherapist, psychoanalyst and integrative psychotherapist, educator and supervisor. In a touching and inspiring atmosphere, Dr. Joseph shared with us personal memories and stories from his family history, about his great uncle Sigmund Freud, about his aunt Anna Freud and the space in which he was placed during his studies, which he says is “the space where Melanija Klein drank tea“, and about his teacher, John Bowlby, whom we all know from learning about attachment theories. We rarely have the opportunity to attend a meeting where history and contemporary psychotherapy practice come together so authentically.
During the weekend, we exchanged knowledge, ideas and experiences with our international and domestic lecturers, supervisors, therapists and students, creating space for professional exchange, growth and connection.
We are especially proud of the ceremonial awarding of European certificates to our colleagues:
Dželila Mulić Čorbo and Tanja Tankosić Girt, now European accredited educators/trainers and supervisors, and Jelena Subašić, European accredited educator/trainer.
We celebrated this important moment together with our long-time lecturers and friends from Slovenia, Prof. Dr. Sc. Gregor Žvelac and Prof. Dr. Sc. Maša Žvelc, who led the last theoretical module on the topic “Integration of the therapist’s identity”, for two generations of students of integrative psychotherapy of children, adolescents and adults, who are preparing for the final exam.
In addition to learning together, we also shared joy, closeness and a sense of community.
Thank you to everyone for your presence, inspiring conversations and every contribution that makes our BHIDAPA Academy of Psychotherapy a unique and strong community.
