Yamen Hrekes was born in Syria. There, he completed his studies in electrical engineering and telecommunications at the University of Aleppo. Subsequently, he graduated in psychology from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Banja Luka.
He has nearly 10 years of practical experience in psychotherapy. He spent five years in intensive training in Transactional Analysis and earned the title of practitioner under supervision. He then completed four and a half years of advanced education in integrative psychotherapy at the BHIDAPA Academy for Psychotherapy and obtained the title of integrative psychotherapist in accordance with
European standards.
As a specialist in the field of migrations and intercultural relations with over 17 years of
experience working in international organizations, Yamen brings rich international knowledge to work with a broad spectrum of populations, including vulnerable groups in various contexts, refugees, migrants, and individuals in crisis situations. He has created and led numerous local and international projects and programs for mental health protection. He provides psychological support in crisis situations and promotes inclusivity and cultural sensitivity.
He speaks Bosnian, Serbian, Croatian, English, and Arabic fluently. This enables him to effectively work with diverse clients from different cultures and backgrounds. In his private practice and on the “Psihoterapija.app” platform, he applies a personalized integrative relational approach.
He focuses on deeper understanding of internal patterns, strengthening psychological resilience, identity development, and improving the quality of interpersonal relationships.
