Prof. Slavica Tutnjević, PhD

Integrative Psychotherapist for Children and Adolescents

Slavica Tutnjević is a Full Professor of Developmental Psychology and a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist for Children and Adolescents. She began her professional path at the Faculty of Philosophy in Banja Luka, where she graduated in 2004. She earned her Master’s degree at Columbia University in New York, focusing on the development and education of gifted children, and obtained her PhD in Psychological Sciences in 2014 in Banja Luka.

Primarily employed at the Faculty of Philosophy, she strives to introduce students to the fascinating world of early development—where developmental psychology naturally intersects with everyday life and serves as an indispensable foundation for effective psychotherapeutic practice. She is the author of numerous scientific papers, book chapters, and textbooks, and has long served as a coordinator and participant in international student and staff exchange programmes. She believes that journeys—both inner and literal—are an important part of life.

She began her psychotherapeutic work on a voluntary basis through work with children without parental care, and later continued at the counselling centre for children and young people “Nova generacija” in Banja Luka, where she has been primarily dedicated to working with at-risk children and survivors of violence, abuse, and neglect. In private practice, she works with children and their families, as well as with young people in the broadest sense of the term, using an integrative approach. She believes that, in addition to education, working with people requires breadth of spirit, openness, and creativity.
