Emina Sinanović is a psychologist (MA) and an integrative psychotherapist. She obtained her Master’s degree at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo, by defending her thesis entitled “Lexical Social Attitudes as Determinants of Ambivalent Sexism.” She earned the title of Integrative Psychotherapist at the BHIDAPA–EAPTI Academy for Psychotherapy.
She is employed as a teaching assistant at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo, where she delivers courses in biological psychology, personality psychology, and research methodology. In parallel, she works in private practice, providing individual psychological counselling and psychotherapy for adults.
She is involved in international projects and scientific research activities in the fields of social psychology, personality psychology, and mental health. She is a member of the professional team of the University of Sarajevo Student Support Office, where she coordinates the work of the Psychological Counselling Unit, which provides students of the University of Sarajevo with access to free psychotherapy. The Unit also offers opportunities for clinical practice to psychotherapists in training.
In her psychotherapeutic work, she is particularly dedicated to themes of identity, authenticity, interpersonal relationships, and anxiety. She strongly believes in the importance of the therapeutic relationship, a safe therapeutic space, and the role of the therapist as a companion in the process of personal growth, self-understanding, and self-acceptance.
