Sexual dysfunction disorders in women

Module Description:

This module provides a comprehensive understanding of sexual dysfunctions and dysregulation of sexual drive in men and women, including their etiology, diagnosis, and therapeutic approaches. The focus is on clinical recognition and treatment of sexual disturbances that can significantly impact clients’ emotional well-being, relationships, and quality of life. The module links neurobiological, psychological, relational, and cultural factors in the development of sexual disorders, with special emphasis on integrative therapeutic methods.

The module includes:

  • Etiology and Diagnosis of Sexual Dysfunction Disorders – biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors influencing the development of sexual disturbances.
  • Vaginismus and Dyspareunia – causes and treatments of painful sexual intercourse, including somatic and psychotherapeutic approaches.
  • Female Orgasmic Disorder – understanding the causes of anorgasmia and therapeutic strategies.
  • Interdisciplinary Approach to Treatment – combining psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, and education in managing sexual disorders.
  • Psychological and Emotional Aspects – the role of anxiety, depression, and trauma in sexual disorders.
  • Treatment Interventions – individual and couples therapy, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioural techniques in working with sexual dysfunctions.
