Module Description:
This module provides a comprehensive understanding of clinical diagnostics and psychotherapeutic assessment in integrative psychotherapy. The focus is on assessment of clinical conditions, recognition of key phenomena in the psychotherapeutic process, and development of differential diagnosis through an integrative approach. By connecting bio-psycho-social factors, the module enables students to develop competencies for clinical picture analysis, planning therapeutic interventions, and making informed therapeutic decisions.
The module includes:
- Basics of Clinical Assessment – principles of structured and semi-structured diagnostics in work with adults.
- Differential Diagnosis – distinguishing normal variations, emotional disorders, and clinical syndromes.
- Psychodiagnostic Methods – interview, psychological tests, questionnaires, projective techniques, observation, and analysis of clinical material.
- Integrative Assessment Approach – viewing the client through the neurobiological, developmental, interpersonal, and social context.
- Phenomenological and Dynamic Aspects of Diagnostics – insight into transference, countertransference, resistance, and assessment of unconscious processes.
- Ethical Aspects of Clinical Diagnostics – confidentiality, informed consent, and the professional responsibilities of the therapist.

Competencies:
By the end of the module, students will be able to:
a) Apply integrative methods for mental health assessment and clinical diagnostics.
b) Analyze data from clinical assessments and formulate differential diagnoses.
c) Integrate diagnostic findings into the development of therapeutic plans and formulation of therapy goals.
Knowledge:
By the end of the module, students will acquire:
a) Familiarity with contemporary diagnostic methods and their advantages and limitations.
b) Understanding of key developmental and psychopathological variations in adult clients.
c) Insight into the psychotherapeutic assessment process within individual and systemic contexts.
Skills:
By the end of the module, students will develop:
a) The ability to recognize and interpret clinical symptoms through various diagnostic methods.
b) Competence in making therapeutic recommendations based on clinical assessment.
c) Effective communication of findings with clients, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams.
Assessment of Knowledge and Competencies:
– Written assignment – clinical case analysis and development of a therapeutic plan.
– Differential diagnosis test – application of theoretical models to specific clinical situations.
– Practical demonstration – use of diagnostic methods in a simulated therapy session.
