Module Description:
This module allows participants to develop research, academic, and presentation competencies through the creation of a case study, the publication of professional and scientific papers, and participation in conferences and symposiums. The goal is to integrate theoretical and clinical knowledge, improve critical thinking, and promote academic contributions within the profession.
The module includes:
- Creation and presentation of a case study draft – analysis of clinical work with connections to contemporary theoretical models and research.
- Analysis and integration of relevant literature – connecting theoretical models with clinical practice.
- Application of diagnostic and therapeutic methods – structured evaluation of clinical work.
- Description and analysis of the therapeutic process – a presentation of key phases of the intervention, challenges, and achievements.
- Writing professional and scientific articles – developing academic writing and the ability to argue theoretical and clinical findings.
- Publication of papers in professional journals – contributing to the scientific community through the dissemination of knowledge and clinical experiences.
- Participation in congresses, conferences, and symposiums – attending and actively participating by presenting research and professional papers.
- Networking and professional collaboration – connecting with the academic and professional community to exchange knowledge and improve practice.
- Ethical and Methodological Considerations in Research – ensuring scientific validity and ethical standards in the research process.
Learning Outcomes:
Competencies
Upon completion of the module, students will be able to:
a) Independently conduct research analysis through a case study and write academic papers.
b) Integrate theoretical concepts with clinical findings and critically consider theoretical models and clinical practice.
c) Professionally present findings at professional and scientific conferences, and academically argue research results.
d) Critically reflect on and analyse their own therapeutic practice with reference to ethical principles.
Knowledge
Upon completion of the module, students will have acquired:
a) An understanding of research methodology and the creation of a case study in the field of child and adolescent psychotherapy.
b) Knowledge of the structure and standards of academic writing, publishing, and presenting the results of clinical analysis.
c) Insight into the processes of peer review and evaluation within the scientific community and their application to their own research work.
d) An awareness of ethical principles in research and case study writing, along with the application of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
Skills
Upon completion of the module, students will have developed:
a) The ability to structure, argue, and precisely document academic and clinical work.
b) The skill of presenting, publicly speaking on professional topics, and analysing therapeutic processes.
c) The competence for professional communication, academic collaboration, and the reflective evaluation of research findings.
d) The application of research methods in psychotherapy through case analysis and the validation of clinical findings.
Assessment of Knowledge and Competencies:
The module is assessed through:
– Writing and presenting a draft case study
– Evaluation of research work and feedback from the mentor
– Analysis of clinical material with connections to theory
– Presentation of research data to the mentor and peers
– Publication of at least one professional paper during the training or presentation of research work at a congress/symposium
