Research in Psychotherapy

Module Description:

This module provides participants with theoretical and practical knowledge of research methods in psychotherapy, enabling them to develop critical thinking and the ability to analyse scientific data. The focus is on understanding and applying qualitative and quantitative research methods in the context of child and adolescent psychotherapy, with an emphasis on the ethical aspects of research involving minor populations.

The module includes:

  • Basics of Research Methodology – differences between qualitative and quantitative methods in psychotherapy.
  • Research Design in Psychotherapy – longitudinal and experimental studies, case studies, and action research.
  • Measuring Psychotherapy Outcomes – methods for assessing the effectiveness of various therapeutic interventions.
  • Data Analysis in Psychotherapy Research – basic statistical concepts and interpretation of results.
  • Writing Research Papers and Scientific Articles – basics of academic writing and presentation of findings.
  • Ethical Issues in Research with Children and Adolescents – protection of participants’ rights, informed consent, and data confidentiality.
  • Critical Literature Analysis – evaluation of relevant scientific studies in the field of child and adolescent psychotherapy.

– Writing a mini research project or analysing a scientific study
