BHIDAPA-EAPTI attended the EAP Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Vienna

From March 13 to 15, 2025, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and a series of committee meetings of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) were held at the Sigmund Freud University in Vienna. It is a great honor for us that our institute BHIDAPA-EAPTI was invited and actively participated in this important event.

Mirela Badurina, founder and director of BHIDAPA-EAPTI, who this year also represented SPUuBiH, led our expert team during the intensive three-day work. On that occasion, we actively participated in discussions about ethical principles, optimal standards of online education and digital practice in psychotherapy, training standards, continuous professional development (CPD), and re-accreditation and re-registration processes. Special emphasis is placed on the possibility of additional improvement of education and practice, aligned with the European ESCO criteria and competences, skills, qualifications and psychotherapy at the EQF 7 level.

The meeting was a great opportunity to present our process of mapping educational programs into ECTS and ECVET credits, the establishment of the Academy for Psychotherapy, our professional team, as well as to exchange experiences with colleagues from other EAPTI institutes. In addition, the meetings held with representatives of National Umbrella Organizations (NUO) and National Accreditation Organizations (NAO) further strengthened our cooperation and networking at the European level.

This event once again confirms the importance of continuous investment in the quality of psychotherapy education and practice, as a basis for preserving and improving mental health and the quality of life of children, young people and adults. This is precisely the basic mission of the BHIDAPA-EAPTI institute, the founder of the Academy of Psychotherapy.

We would like to thank the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) for the invitation and the trust shown, and all colleagues for the useful exchange of experiences, support and constructive discussions.

By the next EAP meeting, which will be held in October 2025 in Prague, we plan to complete the accreditation process for our second educational program, which has been accredited by EAIP since 2020, so that we will be ready for the final acquisition of accreditation by EAP. In this way, we will further confirm our commitment to high standards of education, and continue to actively contribute to the development of psychotherapy education in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond.
