Couples’ sexual therapy

Module Description:

This module provides participants with theoretical and practical knowledge about sexual dysfunctions and challenges within partnerships, as well as therapeutic intervention possibilities. It addresses the dynamics of sexual problems in relationships, psychological and emotional factors affecting sexual satisfaction, and various therapeutic approaches. The module emphasises an integrative and holistic approach, including cognitive-behavioural, emotion-focused, and systemic techniques in working with couples.

The module includes:

  • Etiology and Diagnosis of sexual problems in partnerships
  • Development of sexual scripts in partnerships
  • The Impact of Attachment, emotional connection, and insecurities on sexual relationships
  • Communication Patterns and Their Role in couples’ sexual therapy
  • Strategies for enhancing sexual intimacy and satisfaction
  • Therapeutic Work with different models of partnerships (monogamous, open, polyamorous relationships)
  • Specific Interventions for sexual dysfunctions in the context of partnerships

– Written assignment – Case analysis of a couple’s sexual problem
– Presentation – Overview of interventions and therapeutic techniques in working with couples
– Practical demonstration – Simulation of a therapy session with a couple
