Pharmacotherapy and somatic therapy in clinical sexology, and forensic sexology

Module Description:

This module provides a comprehensive overview of pharmacological and somatic approaches to treating sexual disorders, including medical treatments for sexual dysfunctions and pharmacological interventions for paraphilic disorders. Additionally, the module covers the fundamental principles of forensic sexology, including the assessment of sexual offenders, legal aspects of sexual offences, and a multidisciplinary approach to forensic evaluation and treatment.

The module includes:

  • Pharmacotherapy of Sexual Disorders (phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors, testosterone therapy, SSRIs, and other pharmacological agents)
  • Medical Treatments for Sexual Dysfunctions (hormone therapy, somatic treatments for erectile dysfunction, strategies to enhance sexual function in women)
  • Pharmacological Interventions in the Treatment of Paraphilias (antiandrogens, SSRIs, and other psychotropic medications)
  • Forensic Sexology (legal and clinical aspects of sexual offenders)
  • Methods of Assessment and Treatment of Sexual Offences (psychological and neurobiological evaluation, rehabilitation programmes)
  • Ethical and legal guidelines in forensic sexology
