Module Description:
This module provides a comprehensive insight into integrative therapeutic approaches in working with sexual disorders, including cognitive-behavioural, emotion-focused, somatic, and mindfulness techniques. Through clinical examples and practical exercises, students will develop competencies to recognise, assess, and apply specialised therapeutic interventions for sexual dysfunctions, sexual anxiety, and the mind-body connection in the context of sexual health.
The module includes:
- Integrative approaches in working with sexual disorders (cognitive-behavioural therapy, body-oriented therapy, sexual desensitisation)
- Application of mindfulness techniques in the therapy of sexual dysfunctions
- Neurobiological aspects of sexual response and the role of stress regulation
- Emotional connection and its importance in sexual therapy
- Working with individual and partnership challenges in sexual therapy
- Practicum: conducting mindfulness exercises in the context of sexuality

Competencies:
By the end of the module, students will be able to:

b) Conduct individual and couple therapeutic processes using multidisciplinary methods.
c) Use mindfulness techniques to enhance sexual health and body awareness.

a) Understanding of various therapeutic models in the treatment of sexual dysfunctions.
b) Knowledge of the neurobiological and psychological foundations of sexual functioning.

a) The ability to recognise key factors influencing sexual dysfunctions.
b) The skill to apply mindfulness and body-oriented techniques in client work.
c) The capacity to lead the therapeutic process using various integrative approaches.
Assessment of Knowledge and Competencies:
The module is assessed through:
– Written assignment – Clinical case analysis and integration of therapeutic approaches
– Presentation – Overview of mindfulness techniques in sex therapy
– Practical demonstration – Conducting a therapeutic exercise in a simulated clinical setting
