Module Description:
This module provides a fundamental understanding of developmental theories and theories of relationships, focusing on psychological, emotional, and social development throughout the life cycle. Special emphasis is placed on interpersonal relationships, attachment dynamics, and their significance in psychotherapeutic work.
Through this module, participants will become familiar with key theories:
- Psychoanalytic Developmental Theories (Freud, Erikson, Mahler)
- Object Relations and Attachment Theory (Bowlby, Ainsworth, Winnicott)
- Systemic and Intersubjective Approaches (Mitchell, Stolorow)
- Developmental-Relational Models in Integrative Psychotherapy (Erskine, Žvelc)
- Neurobiological Aspects of Development and Their Impact on Emotional Relationships (Schore, Siegel)
The module enables integration of the developmental perspective into psychotherapeutic work, equipping participants to understand the impact of early relationships on the client’s later psychological development and mental health.

Competencies
By the end of the module, students will be able to:
a) Analyze key developmental theories and theories of relationships in the context of psychotherapy.
b) Understand the impact of early relationships and experiences on emotional development.

a) Familiarity with developmental theoretical models and their significance for mental health.
b) Understanding of attachment and interpersonal relationships throughout the life cycle.
c) Knowledge of the neurobiological and psychological foundations of development.

a) The ability to identify developmental patterns in clinical practice.
b) Capacity to conduct diagnostic assessment of attachment and early relationships.

Assessment of Knowledge and Competencies:
The module is assessed through:
– Written assignment (theoretical analysis or reflective essay)
– Oral presentation in a small group
– Answering questions inspired by the assignment and the presentation
