According to the Regulations on Assessment Criteria of the BHIDAPA Academy of Psychotherapy
The assessment of student work within the educational programme includes written assignments (seminar paper, essay), oral presentation, and the final exam (case study, practical work, theoretical review, and defence of the work). Evaluation is carried out according to academic and professional standards, in accordance with the Regulations on Assessment Criteria, an internal document of the BHIDAPA Academy of Psychotherapy, which ensures transparency, objectivity, and consistency in the assessment process.
Based on the final exam grade, the duration of registration is determined and aligned with the CPD (Continuous Professional Development) guidelines of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP), ranging from 3 to 5 years.
Written assignment (seminar paper / essay)
Structure and relevance to the topic
- The paper is clearly connected to the title in a coherent and logical manner.
- The structure of the work is clear and consistent.
Analytical and critical approach
- Independently expressed personal views and experiences
- Application of appropriate theoretical concepts, models, and methods
- Critical review with a distinction between facts and subjective opinion
Use of literature and academic standards
- The paper uses relevant sources and correctly cites the literature.
- Integration of theory, practice, and research insights
Language and style
- Clarity of expression, academic tone, spelling, and grammar
Oral presentation
Structure and organisation of the presentation
- Clearly defined introduction, body, and conclusion
- Logical flow of ideas and coherence of information
Content and relevance
- Concise and precise presentation of the key topics of the paper
- Clearly explained theoretical concepts and their application
Communication skills
- Clear speech, articulation, and engagement with the audience
- Use of visual aids (PowerPoint, posters, multimedia)
Note: The presentation lasts 15 minutes, and the student should demonstrate confidence and the ability to convey information clearly.
Final exam
The final exam includes a case study, practical work, theoretical review, and defence of the work before the committee.
Final exam assessment criteria:
- Case study – Analysis of a problem from the relational-developmental theory
- Practical work and defence – Evaluation of the intervention, flexibility, and creativity in therapy
- Presentation of the theoretical work – Clarity and consistency in the interpretation of theoretical concepts
- Theoretical review paper – Integration of knowledge and critical analysis
Committee assessment and registration duration (CPD EAP)
Based on the final grade, the committee determines the registration duration:
🔹 A – Outstanding performance (flawless or with minor shortcomings) → 5 years of registration
🔹 B – Above average (some shortcomings) → 4 years of registration
🔹 C – Average work (with noticeable shortcomings) → 3 years of registration
🔹 D – Good, but with significant shortcomings → Work revision required, registration possible after review
🔹 E / FX / F – Fail (further work required) → Retake of the final exam
The final grade is recorded in the committee’s form, along with comments and recommendations for the student’s further professional development. After being verbally communicated to the graduate, the documentation is officially archived in their personal file.
