Supervision of Clinical/Psychotherapeutic Practice

Module Description:

Supervision of clinical and psychotherapeutic practice is a key segment of education that provides participants with structured support in developing professional competencies, reflecting on their own work, and gaining feedback from experienced supervisors. The module focuses on the analysis of clinical cases, the process-oriented management of psychotherapy, understanding transference and countertransference (projective identification, parallel processes) and integrating supervisory guidance into therapeutic work.

The module includes:

  • Group and individual supervision – reflection on therapeutic practice through guided discussions and case analyses.
  • Supervised analysis of transference and countertransference – raising awareness of therapeutic reactions and their impact on the therapeutic process.
  • Development of a professional therapist identity – working on personal security, authenticity, and ethical dilemmas when working with children and adolescents.
  • Systemic approach to supervision – integration and understanding of the influence of systems on the course of the therapeutic process (families, schools and others, society, cultural and political environments).
  • Structuring therapeutic interventions – adapting work methods to client needs through the supervisory process.
  • Supervisory analysis of complex clinical cases – consideration of diagnostic and therapeutic challenges when working with children and adolescents.
  • Ethics and professional boundaries – recognising professional challenges and responding responsibly in the therapeutic relationship.
