Module Description:
This module deepens the exploration of integrative psychotherapeutic approaches in work with children and adolescents, focusing on contact, awareness, and tailored therapeutic interventions. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of various psychotherapeutic techniques, development of therapeutic competencies, and flexibility in the therapeutic process. The module enables participants to acquire advanced strategies for working with diverse clinical populations and apply integrative models in the therapeutic process.
The module includes:
- Integrative Approach in Psychotherapy with Children and Adolescents – a combination of different modalities and approaches.
- Contact in the Therapeutic Process – the importance of establishing, maintaining, and deepening contact with the child and adolescent.
- Awareness in Therapy – techniques to enhance awareness and emotional regulation in children and adolescents.
- Individualisation of Psychotherapeutic Interventions – adapting methods to the developmental needs and specificities of the client.
- Work with Internal Conflicts and Emotional Blockages – integration of various techniques to facilitate emotional processing.
- The Role of Creative and Expressive Techniques in Therapy – use of drawing, movement, play, and symbolism.
- Therapeutic Techniques Based on the Relational Approach – analysis of interpersonal relationships and their impact on the therapeutic process.
Learning Outcomes:
Competencies
By the end of the module, students will be able to:
a) Apply integrative therapeutic models in work with children and adolescents.
b) Develop and maintain contact in the therapeutic process through various modalities.
c) Use techniques to facilitate awareness and emotional regulation in therapy.
Knowledge
By the end of the module, students will have acquired:
a) A deep understanding of the contact function in psychotherapy and its impact on the therapeutic process.
b) Knowledge of techniques and strategies for working on emotional awareness and affect regulation.
c) Integration of creative and expressive techniques into the therapeutic process.
Skills
By the end of the module, students will develop:
a) The ability to flexibly apply various psychotherapeutic methods.
b) The skill to recognise moments of contact disruption and work towards its restoration.
c) Competence to structure the therapeutic process in accordance with the individual needs of the client.
Assessment of Knowledge and Competencies:
The module is assessed through:
– Analysis of the therapeutic process focusing on contact and awareness
– Practical exercises in applying integrative techniques in therapy
– Group discussion and reflective essay
